The springtime is another beautiful season here at the Lake. The trees and flowers bloom into beautiful colors and fishing becomes more popular as some of the best bass and crappie are abundant for the anglers. In addition, a wide variety of festivals make this season very enjoyable.
In the fall, the weather is still great with temperatures ranging from the high 60s to high 70s. People continue to go boating and fishing because the water temperature continues to stay comfortable. Golfing becomes popular as the drop in temperature adds a refreshing breeze to the links.
During the winter, high temperatures average between the low 30s and mid-50s. The Lake area experiences some snowy weather and the temperatures may dip into the 20s. Wineries
A POPULAR PASTIME AT LAKE OF THE OZARKS
Casa De Loco
Casa De Loco, translated as “house of the crazy”, has been nominated to the National Register of Historic Sites and has quite the unique story. Located west of Camdenton, the land was first developed in the late 1930’s and went through several transformations, including The Mozark Health Care Facility, which was home to many elderly and mentally-ill patients. Enjoy their private labeled wines, such as Schizo Bianco, Labottleme Zinfandel, and Straitjacket Syrah atop a bluff overlooking the Big Niangua River.
Seven Springs
This beautiful winery is located among the rolling foothills between Osage Beach and Camdenton. Share a bottle of wine or sangria with dinner while enjoying the live entertainment or just stay for a glass and seasonal fruit and cheese board. They also offer a shuttle from your lake location!
Shawnee Bluff Winery
Shawnee Bluff Winery offers wine by the bottle or by the glass. We also offer wine tastings in a beautiful setting with gorgeous views of the Lake of the Ozarks. We are located on Bagnell Dam Boulevard in Lake Ozark, situated atop the bluff with a 14 mile incredible, panoramic view of Lake of the Ozarks. Originally renovated in 2011, we now have added new decks to enjoy our wine and view, an indoor tasting room and bistro if the weather isn’t ideal, and a new brick oven to prepare the best pizza at the Lake. We have added a Banquet and Event Hall available for your special occasion of groups up to 50.
Golden Rock Winery
The 2011 Small Emerging Enterprise of the Year was awarded to the Golden Rock Winery in Camdenton. The criterion for this award is for a business to best display the innovation, entrepreneurial accomplishments and/or utilization of emerging technology.
Area Golf Courses
It’s a great setting, but playing at the Lake is more than just “a walk in the woods”. Area courses challenge golfers at every skill level. Elevation changes, water features, rock outcrops and more have been built into our championship courses by famed designers including Arnold Palmer, Tom Weiskopf, and Robert Trent Jones, Sr.
What’s more, Lake of the Ozarks golf courses offer all the amenities and services you expect from first-class facilities. And if you bring your family along, everyone will enjoy the Lake of the Ozarks’ outstanding lake recreation options, attractions, shopping and dining.
